Pro Audio – Trusting Your Gear for Great Sound

If you're a professional musician, DJ, event organizer, or any other pro who relies on good sound equipment as part of your job, you're likely to be aware of the importance of having gear that you can rely on every time. Nothing is worse than being in the middle of a gig and having all of your microphones suddenly lose power. And having to worry about your audio gear giving out on you at any moment throughout a show takes your focus away from your performance, where it should be. In other words, you need to invest in gear that you can trust.

There are plenty of pro audio Los Angeles companies out there, but you shouldn't simply do business with the first one that you find. Do your research, and you can likely find great audio equipment at lower prices than you may expect. Start by using the internet to compare prices. While many online only retailers are out there, you can usually find deals locally that match or even beat what they can offer. But online is a great place to get an idea as to the price that you should be looking for when you start shopping for your professional audio equipment.

Find out just what you're getting. Many audio wholesale companies can offer great gear at low prices, but others may be selling factory reconditions or used equipment. If you're okay with that, that's fine, but be sure of what you're buying before you pay for it. Whatever the case may be, find out if the company offers a warranty or guarantee of any kind, especially on used equipment. Factory reconditions usually don't come with much of a manufacturer's warranty, so be sure that you cover your bases before you finalize the deal. Get it in writing if you can.

Of course, new gear can be expensive, so find out if any stores are offering special deals, sales, or discounts. A full set of high end cables if you purchase pro audio speakers, for example. Don't be afraid to visit several audio dealers before you settle on the right one to buy from. Shopping around can usually save you money in the end, and telling a clerk what you're looking for can often lead to being offered a better deal than you may have gotten otherwise. Take your time and enjoy the experience. You'll get to try out tons of great gear and eventually be able to take to the stage with confidence about your equipment, not concern.
